Biography

Having grown up in a farming family from the south-west of WA, Senator Brockman has a passion for policy issues concerning rural and regional Australia. His policy interests include agriculture, mining, trade, oil and gas, infrastructure and regional development.

He is currently President of the Senate, as well as Chair of the Standing Committee on Appropriations, Staffing & Security.

Recent positions include Deputy Whip of the Senate, Chair of the Economics Legislation Committee & Chair of the Select Committee on Multi-Jurisdictional Management & Execution of the Murray Darling Basin Plan. Along with Deputy Chair of the Economics References Committee.

He has extensive experience in running the family farm, management roles in business and working for industry associations. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a first-class Honours Degree in Political History.
